How did your holidays go? Here the sun is shining over Paris, Spring is finally here, and with it, the moment we have all been waiting for. After months of dedication, creativity, and countless cups of coffee, the ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival is ready to open its doors. The countdown is over: it’s time to celebrate independent cinema together.
From April 24th to 26th, the festival will take place at the cinema Les 7 Parnassiens, 98 BVLD Du Montparnasse in Paris, transforming the theater into a vibrant meeting point for filmmakers, cinephiles, and industry professionals from around the world. Three days of screenings, conversations, and shared passion for storytelling await you—so make sure you don’t miss it.
We are also proud to announce that the official selection has now been published on our website. A diverse and inspiring lineup of films is ready to be discovered, showcasing unique voices and bold perspectives. Curious to see which projects made the cut? You can now explore the full selection online and start planning your festival experience.
One of the highlights of this edition will take place on Sunday, April 26th at 11:30 AM: the #SheShoots panel. This special event is dedicated to the talented women directors and creatives who participate in the festival, offering a space for open discussion about their role in the film industry, the challenges they face, and the perspectives they bring to the cinematic landscape. It promises to be an inspiring and meaningful exchange—one you won’t want to miss.
Our Journalism Department is fully immersed in the festival spirit. This month revolves around connecting audiences with the voices behind the films. A new podcast series, Meeting the Official Selection, is now underway, featuring guests from this year’s lineup every Friday leading up to the festival—and the first Two episodes are already live and you can listen to them here! Alongside this, our journalist is organizing private virtual Q&A sessions with selected directors, working on press releases, and coordinating the #SheShoots panel, ensuring every story gets the attention it deserves.
Meanwhile, the Video Production Department is bringing the festival to life on screen even before it begins. They are currently working on the official sizzle reel, a dynamic video presenting all the films in the selection and announcing them to the public. At the same time, the team is developing promotional concepts for the festival and producing trailers for the films, carefully crafting visual content that captures the essence and energy of ÉCU.
The Social Media Team is playing a key role in building excitement around the event. From creating engaging TikTok videos to writing captions for each film trailer, their work ensures that every project finds its audience. They are also editing and sharing creative content—like photos of ÉCU stickers across the city—to spark interaction and bring the community closer to the festival atmosphere. You can keep up with us across all platforms: be sure to check out our Instagram, Spotify, X, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube pages, all carefully curated by our team.
On the ground, the Marketing Manager Department is focused on expanding the festival’s reach and boosting ticket sales. Through the physical distribution of posters, stickers, and brochures all over Paris, they are making sure ÉCU is visible throughout the city. At the same time, they are maintaining strong relationships with sponsors and partners, helping to support and amplify the festival’s impact.
The Event Management Team is working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare every detail at the cinema. From organizing materials and coordinating screenings to reaching out to embassies, their goal is to create a seamless and welcoming experience for both guests and filmmakers.
Our Graphic Design Team is already looking ahead while supporting the present. In addition to finalizing materials for ÉCU 2026—such as the festival brochure—they are working on posters for upcoming editions, starting with ÉCU Americas in August, followed by Africa and Asia. Each design reflects the identity and spirit of our global vision.
The Sponsorship Department continues to build meaningful collaborations, and we are happy to welcome a new team member in this area, contributing to the development of partnerships that align with ÉCU’s mission.
April has also been a month of growth for our team. HR is excited to welcome many new interns who are ready to contribute their energy and ideas across departments. Thoshiba Immanuvel, Serena Valero, and Kamsy Anyachebelu have joined the Event Management team. Sofia Lamia, Ana Perez, and Clara Ribeiro are now part of the Marketing team, while Blanche Lordereau and Talia Hachache have joined Social Media. The Video Production department expands with Julia Sordo Rivas, Ximena Lopez, and Ada Cürgül. Imene Marref joins Sponsorship, and Melissa Billard takes on the role of Channel Coordinator. Their arrival brings fresh perspectives and strengthens the team as we head into the festival.
Everything is ready. The films, the voices, the stories—and most importantly, the audience.
Now it’s your turn to be part of it. We’ll see you at the festival. 🎬
