During forty days, Thierry Bugaud and Kristof Bonfils followed the Azalaï, the last saharian salt caravan. They wanted to make a documentary out of this journey and they achieved much more. Retour au Désert is a mise en abyme. It is about the relationship between these two movie makers with the desert, its men, and with themselves.
