Tage der Flucht/ Days of crossing the border

GDR, 1985.
Living under constant threat of exposure and unable to say a proper goodbye, the young lovers Kathi and Ina plan their escape to the West. But as they attempt to cross the border, their plan shatters: the escape car can hide only one of them. What begins as a shared escape turns into a brutal test of their love.
