Clouds Fly West

A migrant in a distant city has no friends to talk to and nothing to do for a living but to play the accordion. Based on a true story and with beautiful animation and stop-motion graphics, Clouds Fly West is a story about an encounter in a foreign city. The meet unlocks a stream of emotions and thoughts in the heart of a 16-year old filmmaker, who shoots the film with a handheld camera and edits it on his desktop computer. The documentary is less a rigorous analysis of the issues it tries to tackle – urbanization and migration – than it is a personal reflection of a young boy who stumbles to make a sense of big topics but presents an unblemished, candid and heartfelt recount of a changing world.
